Man, NAMPO ALFA in Bothaville was a jol! We got to hang out with some of the toughest, funniest, salt-of-the-earth Free State farmers, and if there’s one thing we learned, it’s that these okes know their stuff when it comes to farming, hunting, and everything in between. They gave our scopes a proper once-over, and the feedback was mint—seems like AKRA’s making some waves out here in the veld.
Farm-Bred Camaraderie and Hunting Tales
Meeting these Free State farmers felt like reconnecting with long-lost cousins, and that was the case for some of our team members. Between talks of veld and cattle, we got deep into what makes a great scope for hunting: reliability, accuracy, and not giving up on you in the middle of nowhere. We shared hunting tales, had a few laughs, and got solid advice on what Free State hunters want in their gear. Let’s just say, they know how to separate the “boer” from the “bull!”
Custom Flasks and New Friends
One of the best parts? Meeting our new besties over at LIZZARD Online! They’re the legends behind our Bosklets-branded flasks. People were lining up to get their hands on these bad boys, which sparked more than a few braai-table conversations about scopes, Bosklets, and a good ol’ hunting life.
New Kid on the Block
So, we did notice a few side-eyes from some of the other brands around us—turns out, that being the new oke with all the latest kit can ruffle some feathers! But hey, no bad vibes here. We’re just the fresh face on the scene, ready to show everyone we’re serious about quality and leaving a lasting legacy!

A proper highlight of our time in "Die Platteland" was when Abrie Nel took our new VISION X Thermal scope for a spin. Abrie also chats about Jackal Hunting (Varmenting) on one of our Bosklets Episodes - CHECK IT OUT!

Only in the Free State do you have a whirlwind barreling through an event, and no one blinks an eye. The tents flapped, and the dust flew, but everyone just carried on, as if they were immune to Mother Nature’s tricks. That’s the Free State spirit right there—tough as nails and always ready for action. We’re not saying it was a little rough, but hey, if the people can handle it, so can we!
There was no shortage of entertainment with the animals at NAMPO either. We saw donkeys, camels, some prime cattle, and even a sheepdog trainer who walked his entire flock right through the middle of the exhibition—proving those dogs have more discipline than a troop of soldiers! We have to give it to him; it was hands down one of the highlights, and he had us all captivated from start to finish.
Wrapping it Up – Feeling Proudly AKRA
Leaving NAMPO ALFA, we couldn’t help but feel proud. We met absolute legends, made solid connections, and had more than a few laughs. Being out in Bothaville reminded us why we do what we do—creating top-notch gear for the people who appreciate it most.
