  • What is the difference between ED Glass and a Standard Lens
When you’re out in the field, whether it’s tracking game or simply enjoying nature, you want crystal-clear visuals. Chromatic aberration happens because different light wavelengths don’t always hit the same focal point, and this can cause those annoying colour fringes on the edges of objects you’re viewing. It’s especially noticeable when you’re using standard lenses. That’s where AKRA’s ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass comes in. Our ED glass minimises colour fringing, giving you sharp, true-to-life colour, even when you’re zooming in on the smallest details. If you’re out spotting or using our scopes for digiscoping, ED glass ensures that every image is crisp, especially when you’re focused on high-contrast subjects like birds with white feathers. Don’t settle for less when you’re in the great South African outdoors – trust AKRA to bring your vision into sharp focus.
