Why STEALTH? AKRA's CEO on the Evolution of Our Red Dot Optics

From Hunting Optics to EDC. Quite by Accident.

Believe it or not, AKRA Precision Optics didn't enter the Everyday Carry (EDC) market with some grand master plan. In fact, we pretty much stumbled into it.

At the time, my world revolved around hunting, riflescopes and precision optics. Red dot sights for pistols? Not exactly where I thought we'd end up.

Then one day, a customer showed me a red dot sight and said, "You guys need to do this."

So, naturally, I made a few calls.

We contacted our factory, brought in a handful of red dot samples and handed them over to shooters in the industry to test. The feedback was great, and that got the wheels turning.

We started tweaking specifications, making improvements and listening to what shooters actually wanted from their optics.

And BOOM! The ORIGIN X Series was born.

Of course, this also meant our team, which consisted mostly of hunters, suddenly had to become very familiar with pistols, mounting footprints and the wonderful world of EDC accessories. There was a lot to learn, and there still is.

But that's part of the fun, isn't it?

From ORIGIN X to Something Bigger

As the EDC and pistol optics market continued to grow, so did our knowledge and ambitions.

We weren't interested in simply expanding our product catalogue. We wanted to develop red and green dot sights that reflected everything we'd learned from our customers, the industry and our own experience.

The ORIGIN X COMBAT and ORIGIN X MES marked a major turning point.

For the first time, we brought an industrial designer into the development process and started designing our own optics from scratch.

We took everything we already knew, combined it with what we wanted to improve, and completely AKRA-fied it.

The ORIGIN X COMBAT was a particularly important milestone. It incorporated premium optical features that I had wanted to offer our customers for some time:

• Aspherical lenses for exceptional optical clarity and reduced distortion.
• LEGACY OLED technology for a refined reticle display.
• Three reticle options for greater versatility.
  
• AKRA LEGACY Full Lifetime Warranty, including the electronics.

That last point was particularly important to me.

We wanted to build premium dot optics that we could confidently stand behind, not just on the day of purchase, but for years to come.

And that brings us to STEALTH.

Why STEALTH? Because Good Can Always Be Better.

The introduction of the STEALTH RMSC and STEALTH RMR red dot sights represents the next chapter in AKRA's journey into pistol optics.

These aren't simply existing red dots with a new name or a fresh coat of paint.

The STEALTH Series has been designed, redesigned, refined and reworked with a clear focus on strength, durability and optical performance.

We wanted stronger housings, clearer optics and premium technology, all packaged into red dot sights that shooters could depend on.

Both the STEALTH RMSC and RMR feature:

• Strengthened housings: Engineered with durability and reliability in mind.
• Aspherical lens technology: Delivering an exceptionally clear sight picture while reducing optical distortion.
• LEGACY OLED technology: Premium reticle display technology for a clear aiming point.

The range also offers two mounting-footprint options. The STEALTH RMSC uses the RMSC footprint (compact pistols), while the STEALTH RMR uses the RMR footprint (full-frame pistols), giving shooters options for different compatible pistol configurations.

Because let's face it, a red dot can look fantastic on paper, but what matters is how it performs when you're actually using it.

More Than Just Another Red Dot

For me, the STEALTH Series represents something bigger than the launch of two new pistol red dot optics.

It represents how far AKRA has come.

We started out as a team of hunters who knew our way around riflescopes but had plenty to learn about pistol optics. Today, we're actively involved in developing and refining red dot sights with our own design direction, specifications and a much deeper understanding of what shooters need.

And we're still learning.

The shooting industry moves quickly. New technologies emerge, expectations change and there's always something that can be improved.

That's exactly why we continue to develop our products.

STEALTH isn't about reinventing the red dot. It's about taking what we've learned and making it better.

Looking back, it's quite something to think that this whole journey started with one customer saying, "You guys need to do this."

Turns out, he had a point.
